Noise Eraze documentation
Installation, the panel, six algorithms, and the answers to the problems that show up first.
Remove the noise. Keep the meaning.
Noise Eraze is denoising for Premiere Pro. The plugin removes sensor and compression noise without turning the picture into plastic: motion, textures and detail stay where they belong.
Six denoising algorithms — from fast everyday cleanup to reference quality. A panel with presets and a Simple mode that leaves one button and one slider in the effect. Motion analysis with a single button — vectors are computed once and reused by every algorithm.
Three things worth knowing
01 — Simple instead of a wall of parameters. Simple mode leaves one thing in the effect: the algorithm in the first slot, the "Denoise" slider and presets. Full control is one button away in Advanced, in the panel header. The picture does not change when you switch.
02 — Analyze Motion does the work once. Press "Analyze Motion" and the motion vectors are computed and stored in the project. Every temporal algorithm (ATAdenoise, HQDN3D with Temporal, BM4D) reuses them: clean results on motion without ghosting, and no recomputation on every frame.
03 — Draft for preview, quality for export. Draft Preview and Preview Mode simplify heavy algorithms during playback so the timeline runs smoothly. The final render and export are computed at full quality.
Which algorithm when
In short: HQDN3D — the fast working default, ATAdenoise — clean static scenes, NLMeans — textures and detail, FFTdnoiz — a balance of speed and quality, BM3D — high quality on a single frame, BM4D — the reference, but it needs Analyze Motion and time.
| Algorithm | Type | Speed | Quality | Motion | When to use |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| HQDN3D | spatial + light temporal | ●●●●● | ●●○○○ | tolerates | you need a result fast |
| ATAdenoise | temporal | ●●●○○ | ●●●○○ | only with compensation | static scene, interviews |
| NLMeans | spatial | ●●○○○ | ●●●●○ | tolerates | textures and detail matter |
| FFTdnoiz | spatial (block-based) | ●●●○○ | ●●●○○ | tolerates | a balance of speed and quality |
| BM3D | block-based | ●○○○○ | ●●●●● | tolerates | you need quality and have the time |
| BM4D | block-based + temporal | ○○○○○ | ●●●●● | with compensation | reference quality; Analyze Motion required |
The full breakdown — with a decision tree of five questions — is in the "Algorithms" section.
Where to start
- Install the plugin and panel — five minutes.
- First run — apply the effect, open the panel, pick a preset, press Play.
- If something goes wrong — FAQ: ghosting on motion, smearing, eaten detail, FPS drops.
